In scriptures, we are told the story of Joseph, a young boy who is thrown into a pit by his own brothers out of jealousy before he is rescued by a passing caravan who take him to Egypt where he ends up becoming the king of vast lands. ​

 

Many amongst us are thrown into the pits by society for defying the rules of patriarchy: LGBTQ+ youth, gender non-conforming people, religious minorities, new atheists, cult members trying to escape, sex workers etc. ​
